When young men and women get their first car it is often the start of something sinister. Having a car gives a teenager some true freedom and responsibility like they may never have experienced before and they quite understandably like. Their car can become the focus of their attention as they drive to school, in to town and just generally around in it all the time.

Inevitably the basic model of car may not be enough for some people. This is when some turn to car modification and engine upgrade garages for ways to boost their style and performance. Routine Maintenance to Improve the Performance of Your Luxury Vehicle

There are many advantages to owning a luxury vehicle. These automobiles are known for their performance, status, and refinement. Chances are, you paid a hefty price for your foreign import. Keeping it in top condition and running efficiently will protect your investment and improve longevity. Routine maintenance is essential for all vehicles, but especially important for the special requirements of a luxury vehicle.

The performance of your luxury vehicle depends greatly on how well maintained you keep it. From oil changes to transmission inspections, routine car maintenance and repair greatly influences the drive-ability of your vehicle. Recommendations from the manufacturer are found in your owner’s manual. While these are good guidelines, how much and how hard you drive your car may influence those service timelines. For example, those individuals who do a lot of stop and go driving may put more stress on their engine and other parts than those who primarily drive on highways.

Many luxury vehicle manufacturers are recommending longer intervals between services to make their cars appear more maintenance-free. While there certainly is better technology and longer-lasting parts than in the past, modern vehicles still require regular service to ensure that they are performing efficiently. Leaving oil in your engine too long can damage it and severely impact the performance of your vehicle. The same is true for other maintenance items throughout your vehicle.

Your on-board smart computer system that alerts you when it is time for service may be set for intervals that are too long. It is not unusual for luxury vehicle owners to follow a maintenance schedule that is different from the recommendations in their owner’s vehicle. They spent a lot of money on their BMW, Mercedes, or other foreign import and they want to do everything they can to keep it in top condition. Read the rest of this entry »
